Andongkoe 64 Salatiga by OYO Rooms

The narrow alley is a hassle to reach. Only one car fits, and an Inova or Pajero would be really tight. The parking lot is supposed to be spacious, but four cars already fill it. Alley VII seems like the better way in than alley IX. Inside, it feels more like a boarding house than a hotel: just a toilet, refillable drinks at the front desk, and a small Android TV. I paid 575,000 rupiah for two weekend nights, which seems reasonable for what’s provided. The staff were standard in their hospitality, and cleanliness was standard too, nothing above expectations. The bigger problem was the connection. Our XL signal vanished in the room, and even with full Wi-Fi bars, the internet was very slow. The power also went out twice a day during our stay 🧐 Check-in was fairly quick, but the receptionist said checkout was at 11, despite tiket.com listing 12. I couldn't be bothered arguing and figured the ratings could speak for themselves. Unless Salatiga hotels are full and you’re in a bind, this feels like a last resort.

For an inexpensive rate, the facilities are surprisingly nice. The sheets, pillows, and bed were soft and smelled fresh. The friendly, informative service made me think the owner or manager is a real hotelier. It’s a little way down a narrow alley, though the parking area is roomy enough.

I was unsure at first, but after three days I felt it was worth the stay. The access is the main drawback, since you have to come through a small alley. There’s also a coffee shop at the back. The room and bathroom were clean, and the hot water worked well. Service was good and prompt, the parking was spacious, the lounge was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was fast. The AC was cold, even though Salatiga itself was already chilly.

For the price, the room is clean and fairly spacious, with fast Wi-Fi and a smart TV you can use. Getting there was confusing, though. Google Maps says to enter Andongkoe IX alley from the main road and take the first alley, but the place is actually down the second alley. Hopefully you can make it to that second small alley 🔥 I asked and there are no extra beds, so a group of three needs to book two rooms. As of June 2025, the price for booking a room directly there is Rp180,000.
