We visited Kebun Mawar Situhapa for the gardens and highland scenery, and the place was lovely and quiet. The paths, places to rest, and small local eateries serving warm drinks were enough for a peaceful visit. Early morning or late afternoon seems best, when the light is soft and the garden feels almost magical. The roses cover gentle slopes in many colors, with misty hills and fresh mountain air all around. It’s a calm spot for photography, taking things slowly, or just sitting quietly. The local staff were friendly and the gardens well maintained. Since it’s away from the main tourist trail, there weren’t big crowds or much over-commercialization, and it still has a raw, genuine charm. It’s a welcome detour for anyone traveling through West Java who wants nature and an authentic local experience in Garut.

It’s spacious, with lots of places to sit, and the IDR 17,500 entrance fee is cheap. Parking is reasonably priced too. The gardens feel like a small botanical garden, though a few flower areas were bare and not great for photos. Still very worth visiting, especially compared with viral places that are packed and charge a lot for parking.

The constant stream of motorcycles with loud exhausts ruins the peaceful feel here. There isn’t a minute without hearing them. Management should work with the local communities and police to address it. Modified motorcycle exhausts are illegal under Indonesian law. Please be brave and stop being so passive, or these idiots win.

The dew over the broad rose fields at dawn was dramatic, and staying overnight made the experience unforgettable. I drove two hours from Bandung to get here. I just wish the breakfast were better.

Kebun Mawar was a lovely place to stay for a short break and some time to recharge, away from the busy city. The cool, fresh air and all the roses and greenery made it easy to relax. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and you can tell the owner puts a lot of care into keeping the place clean, neat, and well looked after. For such a beautiful setting and good service, the price is still very affordable. I was really happy with my stay and would recommend it to anyone wanting peace and nature. 🌹✨
