We spent Valentine’s Day at deBintan Villa and had a genuinely lovely stay. The restaurant and café served good food, and at our Valentine’s dinner they played romantic music and gave me a rose. It was a small, thoughtful touch that made the evening special. The views are great, and it’s a quiet, romantic place with attentive service. During heavy rain, when we said we might get soaked going to our cliffside villa normally reached by golf cart, the team quickly arranged their company car instead. They handled our requests promptly through WhatsApp, and helped us quickly when we accidentally locked ourselves out, without making it stressful. Before we arrived, I was in touch for about two weeks after booking to sort out arrangements and preferences. The team was patient, clear, and honest. We also misunderstood the complimentary ferry transfer, which is free for one way only, and they explained that respectfully and transparently. We really enjoyed our stay and would return.

A lovely quiet spot with great mountain views and a good sunrise. It may be less known than the usual places, but it’s well worth considering if you’re after tranquility.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the TV has YouTube. Breakfast is ordinary, and seating on the lower level is limited. It’s nice to walk around the property, including a slow stroll up to the hilltop restaurant. Next time I’d book a room up there for the nice views of the surrounding area. There’s also a small zoo with some animals.

The service at De Bintan villa is excellent. Staff were flexible about scheduling the free shuttle to Tanah Merah seafood restaurant, perhaps because it was off peak season, and they were also accommodating when we changed the final stop for the free ferry shuttle. Our driver kindly stopped at a convenience store so we could pick up snacks and souvenirs. The room was generally okay, and the view from the balcony or de cliff cafe is nice. Breakfast was good too. Some pillows had stains, and replacements came right away, though those still had some stain or smell. The shower water also had a metallic, rusty smell. Still, the service was very commendable.

I really enjoyed my recent stay. It’s a little away from the resorts and activities, but that gave us an interesting look at what local life in Bintan is like. The staff were very kind to us.
