The room itself was okay, but the service was really disappointing. Even though I was a daily customer, they wouldn't give me an elevator access card. Staff left the balcony door unlocked and couldn't provide the key when I asked, which raised security concerns. I canceled the booking but didn't get a full refund. Worst money I've spent.

There are lots of trees around the hotel and the room has a nice view. The facilities were a letdown, though: no towel, mineral water, or tissue.

During 1.5 years of living in Indonesian apartments, this was my worst stay. The photos make it look good, but the place is dirty as hell in reality. Everything was old, nothing worked, and there were ants and cockroaches everywhere. Just disgusting. Getting my deposit back took two months of waiting and arguing. The landlord kept giving ridiculous reasons she couldn't transfer it yet. It seemed like she hoped I'd forget about it or get tired of asking. This is the worst place you could choose for a stay.

The room I booked through Airbnb was modern, clean, and well kept. The bed was very comfortable, and the TV came with a Google Chormecast. You can reach the city centre easily, but it's far enough from the traffic and bustle. Makabana, a nice café and restaurant, is nearby, as is the beer garden Sakapatat. Travellers can also sneak up to the roof for panoramic views over Semarang City, including sunrise and sunset. It's a great place to stay, and I hope to return soon.
