UTC Hotel Semarang

The meals were all good during our four-night stay, and the staff responded quickly and were friendly. They also got our meals ready on time when we asked. Breakfast was local and satisfying enough, the coffee was nice, and lunch was very well priced for what we paid. The one thing that bothered me was the room cleaning on the second day. They left the dirty glass instead of replacing it, and rubbish was still scattered around, as if they'd rushed through. I hope they improve that.

Not a bad place to crash for one night, as long as you don't expect too much. I paid around IDR 300k for a standard family room with 4 twin beds. It was fairly spacious and the beds were comfy. The bathroom was okay, but the hot water didn't work. Drinking water was a problem too: there was a dispenser, though it wasn't always stocked. You get what you pay for.

For around IDR.200K, the price feels fair, maybe on the low side for what you get. The hotel is a big place on jalan Kelud, with a convention hall on the grounds. The rooms are tidy, quiet, and roomy, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The buildings and grounds are spacious, though the property could use renovation and a fresh look.

The room felt damp, and the place needs quite a bit of renovation. It works as somewhere to rest, but I didn't find it comfortable enough.
