The Wi-Fi network and TV remote didn't work, and that's only part of the list. At check-in, a young man was helping us while his friends lounged in the entry hallway smoking cigarettes. Our room was dirty and full of cheap, broken-down furniture. The hallway bathroom on our floor was full of garbage and unusable. It cost the same as some legitimate hotels in town. This place is a real scam, avoid at all costs.

The entrance felt a little creepy, and the GPS location doesn't match where the place actually is. Still, it’s worth staying here while you’re in Semarang. It’s cheap enough for a couple, with a small budget-style room, a comfy bed, good air conditioning, clean towels and toiletries. There’s no window, and you might end up on the third floor instead of the second if the rooms there are already occupied.

The Agoda discount made it very cheap, but the room with a window was impossible to sleep in because the night market was right next to the bed. There was no electricity, which meant no air conditioning, Wi-Fi or way to charge anything. I also asked about a ferry to Kalimunjawa, but the sleepy staff member didn’t seem interested in helping.
