Louis Kienne Hotel Pemuda

The worst part of our two-night stay in Dec 2025 was that the hotel had no working freezer. I'm a breastfeeding mom and asked them to store my ice gel in it, but by the next morning it still wasn't frozen. Staff said the freezer wasn't working, though nobody had told me that beforehand. How can a hotel not have a functioning freezer? The lobby smelled when we arrived, and the toilet had a bit of an odor too. Not recommended at all.

I felt like I'd wasted my money paying high-season prices for a very low-budget hotel. The rooms are large, but they smelled bad. There was carpet in the hallway that seemed rarely cleaned, and the odor there and even in the lobby was really uncomfortable. The food was basic, tasteless, and had very few options. They need to do something. I'm amazed they can run a hotel this way.

On 16 December 2025, we stayed at Louis Kienne Pemuda Semarang and ended up checking out around 1:00 a.m. to move to another hotel. We'd stayed there before, but this was the first time we'd left before our scheduled checkout. We had an early-morning professional commitment, and the disruption left us without proper rest, cost us extra money for a last-minute move, and caused significant inconvenience beyond our control. Noise from adjoining rooms can sometimes be heard because the walls aren't soundproof, but that wasn't the main problem. A neighboring guest left the TV at an excessively high volume until about 1:00 a.m. The staff repeatedly called the room, and we could hear the phone ringing, but nobody answered. Security and hotel personnel went to the room several times, but the door was never opened. The noise continued, and we couldn't rest. No one offered us another, quieter room at any point during the stay. Staff didn't provide an effective solution, despite how long the disturbance went on. So the statement that I declined a room move is inaccurate. I want public responses to reflect what actually happened, fairly and transparently. The guest service manager replied to this review with inaccurate information, claiming a move had been offered. That makes me feel Louis Kienne Pemuda cannot handle complaints when guests are seriously affected. Staff need to be trained to respond professionally, and should not accuse me of turning down an offer that was never made. If the soundproofing can't be fixed structurally, the hotel should set and communicate clear quiet policies, especially for nighttime. Notices on the website, booking platforms, in the lobby, and in guestroom corridors would help people make informed choices and could prevent this happening again. Management should review guest conduct rules and staff response procedures so affected guests get appropriate help. This was a failure to provide reasonable comfort and service, and calls for prompt corrective action and accountability.

The bedroom was spacious, breakfast was good, and the rooftop pool had an amazing view. Parking access is limited, though.
