Metro Park View Kota Lama Semarang

The hotel is easy to find on a corner by an intersection, and the mall is only a five-minute walk away. I stayed three nights and had a good experience. The bedroom was clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the restaurant had a varied breakfast menu. I’d recommend it, though I sometimes noticed a smell from a locked cupboard near the bathroom. I was in a room near the ballroom.

The management handled my concerns quickly and made some thoughtful gestures: complimentary small bites with fresh juice, a room upgrade, a takeaway breakfast at 5 a.m., and a free ride to the airport. I appreciated that goodwill. Still, my sleep was interrupted twice in the middle of the night by calls from reception, who had mistaken me for another guest. At 8:30 a.m. on Sunday they called again about breakfast, which I hadn’t requested. Staff dialed my room without checking the details first. That showed a lack of training and professionalism, and waking guests at midnight and early in the morning for no reason is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. Management should set clear rules against in-room calls unless guests ask for them, and against entering a room when the guest isn’t present. Guests come expecting to rest. I’m grateful for the effort management made to resolve things, and the recovery and goodwill gestures were excellent. With better staff training, this hotel has great potential.

The old town is an easy walk away, and the staff were friendly. My room was clean, the location was good, and breakfast was nice too. It’s a shame we couldn’t use the pool.

I picked this hotel for a short business trip because it’s close to Kota Lama and the city center, and that location worked really well for a quick visit to Semarang. The service was what really won me over. The staff were helpful, the room was clean and spacious, and it had all the basics I needed. There was enough variety in the restaurant food to suit my taste, too. Thank you, Metro Park View! I’d definitely stay here again if I return to Semarang. It seems suitable for a longer visit as well as a short one.
