Pandanaran Hotel Semarang

A convenient hotel in central Semarang, with nice, clean rooms and great service. Thank you for looking after me so well.

We were upgraded to a better room than the one we booked, at no extra cost, which I really appreciated. The building is well maintained, the room was spacious, and the pool was clean, though a little small. There’s gym equipment and a table tennis setup, but I’d suggest adding a treadmill. The location is a strong point, very close to Simpang Lima and its weekend Car Free Day, and the price is fairly affordable compared with similar hotels. The staff were friendly and helpful. Most shared areas were clean, although the sixth-floor corridor carpet smelled a bit. On our first night, our room floor felt sticky and hadn’t been cleaned well; it was cleaner on nights two and three.

The room was spacious, the towels were clean, and the location is convenient. Staff were very friendly, and the main breakfast dishes tasted good. The shower pressure was weak, and with no curtain around the bathtub, water got everywhere and made the floor slippery. The drinks were disappointing too, even the milk tasted watered down. The corridor carpet was very worn and poorly maintained, which made the place feel past its former glory.

The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from, including Indonesian dishes that changed, an egg station, bread, market sweets and bubur ayam. Staff were professional, friendly and ready to help. Both the grand deluxe and executive rooms were spacious. The grand deluxe at the back avoided most traffic noise, though a nearby Mosque could be heard during the day. The front-facing executive rooms had a lot of traffic noise at night. Their bathroom was newer, larger and cleaner, while the grand deluxe shower had better water pressure.
