Star Apartment Lt. 19 & 20

The rooftop is pretty, even if it's small, and the hotel is easy on the wallet. Still, it needs to be cleaner. The curtain in my room was quite dusty, and the basin setup wasn't quite right either.

I remember our family visit in 2019 fondly. The service was awesome then, and you could see Semarang beautifully from every floor. There was also a rooftop pool on the top floor. Things have pretty much gone the other way since that visit. If they fix the damage and other problems around the hotel and improve the service, I think it could get busy again like it was three years ago.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and breakfast was good, mostly Indonesian dishes. The city panorama from the pool on the 30th floor is a highlight. The hotel is close to a shopping mall and convenience store, too. I stayed for two nights. The room looked a bit old and could use maintenance or refurbishment. If you're driving, parking is available, but you have to walk from the parking tower to the hotel entrance on level 1. There's no lift in the parking tower, which is for apartment residents only.

The room was clean and comfortable, it was quiet, and the view over Semarang was great. We found no towel in the bathroom when we were ready to shower, so we called housekeeping. They brought one in about 15 minutes, which I thought was a good response. Only one of the hotel's three lifts was running while I was there, perhaps because the others were being serviced. It took us 15-20 minutes to get to our floor. I hope all the lifts are working now.
