Tjiang Residence

We wanted a quiet weekend after a busy month, and this place was perfect for that. No fuss. The room was smaller than the one we had in Solo, and there’s no cable TV, but that was fine. The lighting system was good, and we appreciated the water heater. The bathroom was small but clean. The towels were a bit dirty, and there’s no parking lot.

This is a nice, affordable place in Semarang Chinatown, with a clean, cozy room for the price. It suits backpackers or families, though there’s no breakfast. On my second visit, things had improved, and the air conditioning was much better than last time. Unfortunately, my room still smelled a little of cigarette smoke. I hope they bring in a no-smoking policy.

For 200.000 IDR a night, you get air conditioning, a hot shower, and bottled water. The room was okay, and you can choose a non-smoking room on the first floor. What I liked most was being close to lots of well-known food spots, including Lumpia gang lombok, ayam bu pini, leker 88, and others.

After a long ride, I found it a quiet, comfortable place to rest. The interior was nice, and the bathroom worked well. They also provided a water heater and coffee mugs.
