Ventura Residence

The rooms were fresh, clean, and well kept, and the staff were sincerely kind. Their hospitality felt like what you’d get at a star hotel. The location is a little out of the way from the center, but if they keep up this level of service, I’m sure guests will return.

We stayed for two days with family and were allowed to check in early, which was appreciated. The rooms had working air conditioning and hot water, and mosquito screens on the windows kept the bugs mostly out at night. It worked well as a place to sleep after exploring Semarang City. There’s no breakfast, coffee, or tea included, and there isn’t much to do at the hotel, with no pool or playground, so I wouldn’t pick it for a staycation. The location is handy for nearby attractions like Lawang Sewu and Kota Lama, and for food at Nasi Ayam "bu pini" and semawis street food. The TV channels and staff hospitality could be better, but overall my family and I had a good stay.

The room was nice, but there was trash under the bed and it felt kind of dirty. The neighborhood outside seemed sketchy, and the staff weren’t very welcoming. You get what you pay for, though I think there are better places at this price.

It’s a basic, clean hotel that can be a bit tricky to locate. Still, you can walk to a lot of well-known food spots in under five minutes, including mie siang kie, lumpia gg lombok, semawis, and nasi ayam.
