Kubal Villa Bali

The beach is right next door, and Eat Street is about 10 minutes away by taxi, so there are lots of options for going out. We stayed in the four-bedroom Villa, which had plenty of room for our family, and everyone loved the private pool. The staff took great care of us and gave excellent service throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kubal Villa.

The location is great, but villa number 3 needs a rapid update. It’s old and doesn’t look like the photos. For 80 usd a night, I’d at least expect a clean place with clean basic amenities. There were Sampurna sigaret buds everywhere, presumably left by the previous renter, and housekeeping could have removed them. The room was full of mosquitoes, so we had to buy repellent before we could use it. The towels were so worn they ripped when we used them.

The staff were really nice and it was generally quiet most of the time. I stayed for a week in the guest house at the back. It was perfectly passable, though not a five-star experience. The towels had holes and stains, and the sheets weren’t pristine, so the linens could use a refresh. The bed was comfortable, the AC was cold, and the rates were more than reasonable. It could be a great spot for a longer stay.

Breakfast was really tasty, with traditional or western options delivered promptly at the time I requested. The place was clean and nicely presented, with daily cleaning and fresh towels. Staff were amazingly helpful and accommodating, even letting us stay longer when our flight was delayed. I had a very relaxing stay and would come back. Bring mosquito protection for nighttime. There were a lot of them, but repellent and a burning stick helped.
