Merumatta Senggigi Lombok

We had a lovely stay. The beachside bar and restaurant were great places to relax, and our room was nicely equipped. The whole place felt calm and well run. Staff were professional and made us feel welcome from the start.

The staff were fantastic, and the pool was a lovely spot to unwind. Breakfast had a good range, with something for everyone. The property covers a huge area and is well located, with great views from the beachfront side. Our room was spacious and good, though a little dated and ready for a refresh.

After staying here on and off for three weeks, I can say the staff and hotel made it hard to leave. They treated us like family, from the front desk to the gardeners, always respectful and ready to make us comfortable. The breakfast had fresh fruit and lots of local dishes; I wasn't sure what to try, but the staff helped me choose. Give the food a chance and try something new, the flavors surprised me. There are tennis courts too, and I saw the mcnrore really pushing the shots. It's right on the beach, so morning and evening walks and sunsets are easy. The beach to the right is public, and it was lovely seeing families enjoying themselves. There are kids' pools for splashing, which makes it good for families with little ones. The beds and bedding were great, and the AC was ice cold. It's not the Sheraton, Hilton or Pullman, and the prices reflect that. Some trendy travelers may find it dated, and there's a balcony notice warning guests not to lean against it, but it felt safe to me. Book at the right time of year and it can cost less than any B&B I've stayed in. You're in Indonesia, so smile and enjoy yourself. I've seen too many Westerners with miserable faces.

Maya in the restaurant was wonderful with my daughter, and Adi in the lobby took the time to ask about our stay and what could be better. The staff were lovely throughout, always smiling and checking in. Our room was clean and comfortable, with cold AC, and the breakfast was delicious: fresh omelette, juices, Indonesian dishes, and they handled all our requests. I highly recommend the resort. We slept well and enjoyed the place. Some things people mention seem ordinary to me for the area: there can be a smell in the bathroom from the different water, an early call to prayer in a Muslim community, and local people swim on the beach in front, as we do in Australia. My only complaint was being charged to use a basketball for an hour. Maybe that could be complimentary?
