I spent a few days here last summer, and there's a lot of love for this hostel. After the Lombok earthquakes, they had to rebuild everything. It's a simple place, but the people working there were genuinely friendly and helpful. They showed me around Senggigi, introduced me to traditional food, and arranged transport, all for free. The rooms and sanitation were basic but clean. I'd recommend it to anyone.
The location is good, though the bars across the road are no longer there. This place is okay, nothing fancy. The dorm is large, hot and sleeps 20, while the AC only comes on around 9:30 pm. Showers are terrible, and the Wi-Fi barely works in the room, so you have to go downstairs, where it's even hotter. Staff were fairly helpful, but we'd paid for breakfast and nobody was there to make it on our first morning. We had a trip booked and went hungry.
The yard and terrace were lovely, and I really liked the interiors. It's clean and tidy, close to the beach and lots of attractions, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. I'm glad I stayed at On the way hostel and recommend it to everyone. This is my honest review, with no discount or deal.
I had four amazing days here. It's an easygoing, clean and comfortable hostel with friendly people, a large dorm, a communal kitchen and a free water refill station. This is the cheapest way to stay in Senggigi.
The hostel itself was okay, but I wouldn't arrange a tour through them. Afterward, the taxi they'd booked and I had paid for took me somewhere other than the agreed destination. A group of men there tried to sell me expensive boat tickets and tours even after I repeatedly said no.
