Le Semar Hotel

The building has a great feel to it, with a beautiful, exotic Javanese interior design. My room was clean and the service was good. At under 300k for a weekend night with breakfast included, it was well worth the price.

For a budget hotel, the room is surprisingly spacious and has a good range of furniture. The shower pressure was really strong, which I loved, but the toilet smelled bad when flushed. I also wish the bathroom lighting were brighter, since dim light makes it hard to judge cleanliness. Staff were helpful, and the lobby is roomy for this class of hotel. I booked through an online travel agent at a very competitive rate and was surprised by how nice the place was. It's behind Le Dian hotel, and they're part of the same hotel group. The classic design includes old vehicle ornaments. From outside, with its wide building and large parking area, it doesn't look like a budget hotel. Breakfast was a nice surprise too: the sausage corner was good, better than what some 3-star hotels offer. An egg station would have made it perfect for its class. If you're looking for a budget stay in Serang, this one is worth trying.

The building and decor are lovely, and the price is reasonable. I booked a standard room and was given one in the basement. The room itself was fine, though the bathroom smelled stale and there were a few things on the floor. Breakfast was included, but the white bread was moldy and the food wasn't very appetizing.

I'm usually easy to please, but I wouldn't stay here again. The pool photos are misleading because there's no pool at this place. A customer's car alarm kept going all night and the front desk wouldn't do anything, so we were kept awake. Breakfast was rubbish, and the bathroom stank of smoke. You can find better places for this price.
