I can’t recommend this place at all. If I could give it zero stars, I would. The room and bathroom were filthy, the room door wouldn’t lock, the location was bad, and the staff were unfriendly. They even denied us toilet paper. I still feel nauseated just thinking about the room. It was one of the worst experiences of my life, even after nearly six months of traveling around Southeast Asia.

We’re pretty easygoing and don’t ask for much, but 450,000 a night? Seriously, it was only because we were in an emergency. There were big cockroaches, probably feeding on the brown worms in the toilet-shower water basin. We could sleep from 3am to 6am, once people finally came back to their rooms.

Even though it’s a cheap place, the lack of cleaning is unacceptable. Both rooms we were given were filthy, and I rarely saw that in six months of traveling around Southeast Asia. We had to change rooms because the first door wouldn’t lock. The second one wouldn’t lock either, but after nine hours on a train we were too tired to keep insisting. When I asked for toilet paper, they said they didn’t have any because they only use the toilet shower to clean themselves. That was a first for me, especially in a touristy place like Jogja. Please run away!
