Saraswati Holiday House

Amazing pool and flowergarden, with nice rooms and a lovely atmosphere. The friendly Staff serve the best Breakfast, with amazing Homemade german bread and Marmelade!

Saraswati was our four-day stop while travelling through bali, and the peace and quiet made it a highlight. We still talk about it two weeks later, and our son, now 4 years old, keeps asking to go back. Lovina isn't as touristy as sanur or nusa dua, and the beaches could be cleaner and the sideways better maintained, but Saraswati more than made up for that. There are just 2 bungalows, both tucked into a wonderful garden. If the other one is empty, you pretty much have the whole place to yourself. It's a very natural setting, so you may see ants, birds, bees, geckos and so on. I think that's part of experiencing bali in a traditional way, rather than having a sterile, artificial stay like in some 4-5 star resorts. The large pool was clean and perfect for our kids. The owners live on the compound, a german woman and her husband. She was kind, helpful, always ready to listen, and planned tours that we were very happy with. She also helped us with laundry and arranged a really good massage, with all services at very low rates. Our bungalow wasn't luxurious, but it was absolutely ok, with a big terrace where we ate breakfast and relaxed. Breakfast was easy and flexible. There's a kitchen and a large fridge stocked with everything you need, so you can help yourself whenever you like. Every morning we got a nice fruit plattern and, if we wanted, a traditional balinese breakfast made by the owner herself. The beverages, like beer and coke, cost less than at some supermarkets, and free water came in a 20 liter tank.

The bungalow was spacious and clean, and my boys enjoyed it a lot. Breakfast is self-service with plenty to choose from: bread, butter, jams, eggs, and balinese snack. Try the german bread, it's delicious! It's a lovely place to stay if you need a break from the city and busy life. Tucked away in a small alley by the river, with green surroundings and bamboo forests in front of the house that keep things breezy. There's no tv, but there are books and board games.

A nice spot to rest and shake off some fatigue.
