I booked through Agoda on a promotion, expecting a basic cheap hotel, but the place turned out much better than I thought. The rooms are roomy and clean, with wide windows for fresh air and daylight, and the bathroom was clean with a hot shower. Staff were friendly too. There’s a cafe out front with a good range of tasty food at reasonable prices. Renovation noise was a bit bothersome during my visit, though. The hotel has a lot of potential, and I hope management keeps the place in better shape. I’d happily tell others about the good parts so they can try it.

The room has a lovely Javanese traditional-house feel, though the property is a bit outside the city. You can still hear motorcycles and mosque sounds from the nearby villages, so don’t expect much quiet. Some amenities are provided, but you should bring your own supplies too. For a lower rate, book through the app.

I came back again, this time for breakfast and coffee. Kopi Plosok was one of the most satisfying coffees I’ve had. Love this place, it feels nice and traditional.
