Set back in a lush area behind Hyatt Regency Hotel, this spacious place has a cool, pleasant feel. There’s a pool in the middle, plus a garden, a small gazebo, and a mini kitchen guests can share. My deluxe room was very large and clean, with towels, amenities, a TV, a fridge, and hot water. The AC could use a little improvement, but that’s a minor issue. It’s one of the more solid accommodation options, and I’d recommend considering it when visiting Yogyakarta.

Our group paid through trip.com after booking four months ahead, but on the D-day the staff said they couldn’t find the reservation and had already given our rooms to other guests. They didn’t seem at all guilty. It was really irresponsible. How could they not locate an online booking? This was a total scam for tourists from outside Indonesia.

This is a relatively great homestay near Hyarta and Grand Hyatt, around Jalan Magelang and Jalan Palagan Monjali. It has 12 rooms and a pool about 10x5m, with space for roughly 20 people at a time. The rooms were quite clean, and parking can fit about 7 cars. It’s a good choice if you want to be near the city without the highway noise.

The room was big, with AC and a hot shower, and cost only IDR200k. There’s a swimming pool too. Nice place for an affordable price. I’ll book again when I come back to Yogya.
