The guesthouse is tucked into a quiet neighborhood among rice paddies, about a kilometer from the main road, and an artist has given it a lovely design. It was so peaceful that if Jogja had less to see, I’d happily spend the day relaxing there. Staff were ready to help with everything we needed, from bus tours and train tickets to restaurant bookings and planning our stay, and they’d give us a lift to the local bus stop whenever we asked. There’s also a friendly guard on duty around the clock. We borrowed bikes for the roughly 30-minute ride to Malioboro. A taxi should cost about 40,000IDR. We tried the 3,600 IDR bus too, but it took over an hour. Breakfast is prepared in the kitchen, and dinner can be delivered. We preferred eating at local restaurants, which were great. If you have time, ride over to the food stalls near UGM, the food there is fantastic and cheap. I’d stay here again when I come back, and recommend it.
