Roemah Gladak Kebon Sidoluhur by OYO Rooms

The cottage only has a bedroom with a bed and a bathroom, even though the photos on Google and the Oyo app look good. In reality it was just so-so. The atmosphere was okay, but outside noise came through a lot and was really annoying. The road in front is covered in stones, which made riding a motorbike very uncomfortable. It's around 30 minutes from central Jogja, so I wouldn't recommend it if you want to spend time in the city. There's a mini restaurant with a few kinds of food, though I didn't try it. The staff were quite friendly, but check-in took a long time, including signing a non-smoking statement. When I first arrived, there was gecko droppings on the bed even though staff had checked it before I moved in. The AC, TV, and hot water worked well. I never got the Wi-Fi password or saw it posted, and I was too lazy to ask, so I can't say how fast it is. It would help to have the password in the room, at reception, or from the receptionist.

We arrived at night, and the place was quite far from the city. Getting our suitcases from the parking area to the room meant dragging them a fair distance, but the security guard kindly lent us a motorbike to carry them. It was still under construction, so we couldn't enjoy the garden and artificial lake yet. There weren't many trees, either, which made it very hot in the daytime. The wooden house was fun to stay in, and it was clean with air conditioning. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, and finding breakfast nearby was quite a trip. In the end we found delicious gudeg near the market, and it was very cheap.

The setting feels peaceful and almost rural, and the prices are affordable for the amenities. There's a fishing spot too, where you might catch catfish or pompano if you're after something fun, hehe. Wi-Fi was fast enough to work, though I'd avoid the rooms at the end. Food can be ordered from the restaurant, but service is a bit slow. Would I stay again on my next trip to Yogyakarta? Yes. It's a nice place away from the crowds, though construction still isn't 100 percent finished. Once the two gardens are done, it'll be even better. Please put slippers in each room, along with prayer mats, mukenahs, and sarongs for prayer. Keep up the cleanliness and continue improving the service. Recommended.
