I booked three nights at The Samirono Yogyakarta after seeing its stylish, boutique look on social media. We arrived about 30 minutes before check-in, and I appreciated being allowed into the room early. The oshibori was a nice welcome, and the corridor looks great, but the self check-in lobby felt underwhelming and the service made an only-okay first impression. The room didn't have proper surfaces for our belongings, and the bed felt cheap and nylon-like, so it wasn't comfortable. Power came through extension terminals that didn't seem safe or well designed. The bathroom was fully transparent with no way to close it, which was awkward when sharing the room. It was also humid and poorly ventilated. The shower gel pump didn't work properly, there was no soap, and the only bath towel was already quite worn. They warned us about daily noise from 08:00 to 17:00, which I appreciated, but I hadn't expected it to be so loud. It drowned out the TV and was disruptive. The PIN door access sounds modern, but entering a long code every time was inconvenient, especially when rushing. The concept and design have promise, but the stay didn't meet my expectations for a boutique hotel. It seemed more suited to monthly co-living or an upscale boarding house. We left after one night and spent the other two elsewhere. It made me wonder whether the room was really ready to sell, or whether the product being delivered lacks consistency. Thank you.

The rooms have new furniture and are very comfortable, and the location is perfect. They provide a water jug and glass, plus a smart TV. Parking fits only three cars, though there is plenty of space for motorbikes. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Thanks to Ms. Mayang for helping during my two-day stay. This place is warm, beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and it works really well for families. The food is tasty and affordable. Lintang Madyaning from The Samirono was especially kind and friendly, and deserves appreciation for the great service. A top recommendation for somewhere to stay.

The price was affordable, and my room was comfortable with a cozy bed. The hotel is surrounded by laundries, minimarkets, food stalls, and inexpensive places to eat, which makes it handy for budget travelers. The staff were also very responsive. A few things could be better: the shower pressure was weak, there was no proper table beyond a small bedside one, and just one outlet by the bed with a power strip. More outlets on both sides of the bed and near the mirror or sink would help with things like a hairdryer. I couldn't open the balcony door, and the hotel doesn't lend plates, forks, spoons, or bowls. Still, I had a good stay, and it's a decent, comfortable option at an affordable price.

It was a good stay, though management could do better, especially with cleanliness. I don't think the linen was changed, and it should be clean and smell fresh. At this price, there should be a kitchen and fridge together, but that's okay.
