Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel

Breakfast had a broad choice of local, Western, and Asian dishes, plus some interesting local herbal drinks. On our third morning, Solomon kindly offered to order special items from the buffet for us. I also loved the service throughout the stay, from the bellboy who took our bags as soon as we got out of the car, to the front desk and security staff who held doors, and especially the thoughtful housekeeping team. They noticed we had too many clothes for the available hanging space and brought us a standing laundry rack and extra water without being asked. Deelen and Wahyu deserve a special mention for their great service. Our room was spacious for two, including the bathroom, and was clean and well maintained. The crab-shaped towel art and welcome treats were cute touches for a Bonvoy Gold member. The beds and pillows were softer than I prefer, even after I chose a foam pillow from the menu, but that's just my taste. Bathroom amenities were all provided. The pool looked great, though I didn't get to use it. Getting here from YIA Airport took about an hour and a half, but the hotel connects to Pukawon Mall, which has just about everything, from a nail spa and massage to a cinema, shops, restaurants, eateries, and a supermarket. Grabs are easy and cheap, so getting around, even farther afield, wasn't a problem. A wonderful stay, and I'll come back when I'm in Jogja again.

Having a shopping centre right next door makes this spot incredibly convenient for food, shopping, and everyday essentials. The hotel is connected to a busy mall, but the guest lift is tucked slightly out of the way, which I liked because it adds a bit of privacy and security. The property is spotless and well maintained. The real stars are the people. They welcomed us with genuine warmth and conversation, rather than just a polite smile at check-in. Breakfast was decent, though it didn't have the wow factor I'd expect from a five-star hotel. I'll stay here again.

Yogyakarta itself has a lot to offer, with culture, history, traditions, heritage sites, art, local food, royal palaces, old temples, lively streets, and beautiful sunrises. The city's warm people and soulful feel make it a memorable destination. The hotel sits right beside Pakuwon Mall, the biggest mall in Yogyakarta, so shopping, dining, and entertainment are only steps away. At the hotel, breakfast and other food were delicious, varied, and nicely presented. The hospitality was what stood out most: from arrival onward, the staff were friendly, the atmosphere felt special, and the service was consistently at a five-star level. On my anniversary trip, the welcome at Yogyakarta Marriott was especially thoughtful. Our room had lovely decorations with messages, towel puppets, balloons, and ribbons. We also booked the family room package, which came with an extra tent for my child, a nice bonus alongside the already well equipped playground downstairs near the pool. They let us check in early even though we arrived quite early. I regularly stay at this hotel when I visit Yogya, and this visit gave me even more reason to appreciate the hospitality.
