The booking was confirmed and paid for through booking com, but when we got there, someone I didn't know called the manager for me. The manager said they were full. The management was awful, and the whole experience was worse than bad.

We arrived at the homestay and were sent to a different hotel, supposedly because the family had booked all the rooms. I checked the homestay and saw plenty of empty rooms. Maybe it was the “invisible” family they meant. The place they sent us to had very poor facilities and looked like a hotel from the New Order era. I chose not to stay there rather than risk being possessed. This felt like a scam: the homestay had cheap prices and convincing photos, and reviews show other people were also sent away with the same old story about the “invisible” family. I hope they stop doing this and improve. God sees everything. Repent 🙏🏿

Near restaurants, with big rooms, clean large beds, blankets and towels, hot water, and sitting toilets. It’s affordable and works well for backpackers or business travelers. One of the few pleasant, livable boarding houses in Soe.
