The room was spacious, the location near the shopping mall was good, and the staff were generally friendly. For the price, the stay was adequate. Still, the towels looked old and torn, and there wasn’t a hair dryer in the room. Whenever I asked for one, staff said other guests hadn’t brought theirs back. I kept waiting in line for it, but it never arrived.

The nearby MRT, plenty of places to eat, and convenience stores made the location a real plus. There’s lots to do around here, and that made the stay less worrying. It helped make up for a number of problems. We had booked a non-smoking room, but on arrival the receptionist said we’d be given a smoking one. The window wouldn’t close completely, leaving a gap, and the cigarette smell clung to the walls despite several sprays of perfume. Both the room and hallway were very hot. The AC was decent, but took a while to make the room comfortable. The bed was much too hard to rest well after being out. There was only one receptionist during a busy weekend with concert guests, business travelers, and families, so getting anything done took too long. If you’re willing to put up with these issues for the location, it may still work for you.

Getting around is easy, with lots of transport options and plenty of food choices at the M Square block. The hotel sits in a central city and shopping area, and prices are affordable. The room was fairly comfortable, though the TV acted up several times. Apart from that, there were no issues, and service was good and quick.

Fave Hotel Melawai is well placed for a family like ours, who enjoy shopping, street food, and friendly people. The rooms are a good standard and the staff are lovely, they do a great job. The WiFi is okay, though not fast. The restaurant is beautiful, with a cool street view.
