Shanti Natural Panorama View Hotel

We stayed for one night with family two years ago. The room was very spacious and clean enough, and we wanted to visit a waterfall near the hotel. We came back today for the restaurant and ordered Bali coffee, banana fritters, and dadar gulung. The view from the restaurant is beautiful, especially with a little rain and some mist.

What made our first Bali trip so special was how cared for we felt. During our 10 days at Shanti Natural Panorama Hotel, the staff treated us like family, always kind and thoughtful, and nothing seemed to be a bother. They also made it easy to arrange things to see and do nearby, so we could just settle in and enjoy ourselves. North Bali’s lush surroundings brought a real sense of peace and calm. We feel lucky to have stayed there, and we’d happily return. It’s the kind of place that stays with you.

The views are fantastic, the grounds are kept immaculate, and the staff are friendly. We also ate some pretty good food, though I’d skip the pasta. Still, a few things would have made our stay more comfortable. Water pressure was weak, and the water could take over five minutes to warm up. The pool was pleasant, but sometimes the water looked cloudy and had an oily film on the surface. Rooms Lakshmi 1 and 2 sit beside a surprisingly busy road, with dogs and roosters nearby. We couldn’t sleep past 05:15, even with our high quality custom earplugs. The other huts may be quieter, but I can’t say. Booking.com calls this a five star hotel, while Google Maps gives it two stars. Based on the amenities, the lower rating seems more accurate. It’s a lovely place in many ways, though I don’t know how it compares with other stays in North Bali.

Aling-Aling waterfall is within walking distance, and there’s plenty to explore nearby, though the views might make you want to stay put. The staff are warm and attentive, and they made us feel like part of the family. The food was fresh, simple, and delicious. The setting and scenery are breathtaking. Shanti loosely translates as perfect, and that’s how the place felt to us. A truly magical spot to sit back and take it all in.
