Amaris Hotel Darmo - Surabaya

I wouldn't recommend staying here based on my experience. The room was small and uncomfortable, and it needed a deep clean and several fixes, including a new coat of paint. The bedsheets were grey, worn, and didn't seem clean. Breakfast was disappointing too, especially the fruit, which looked old and tasted as if it had been in the fridge for days.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and parking had plenty of space. I found the room too small, with no cupboard, though the beds and pillows were fine. Breakfast was just so-so, with not much to choose from.

The strong hot water in the shower was my favorite part. There's just one sleeper in the room, and drinking water comes from dispensers on every floor, with ice, regular, and hot water. The water bottle is glass. The hotel has seen better days and seems short-staffed, though the location is good, near the zoo and Taiwan office, with lots of good restaurants nearby. Mei house is the best-rated of them. Breakfast is pretty average compared with other Surabaya hotels. When booking a Grab or other car service, the hotel might appear as “Amaris Bintoro hotel.” That's the same place, because its location is beyond Jo Bindoro.

The staff were welcoming and pleasant, and handled issues clearly. I enjoyed the stay, and the food was good. There are indoor and outdoor tables in the lobby to choose from. The room was good too, though for some reason we didn't get a towel or bathroom amenities. All in all, okay. Thanks.
