Avi Hotel Surabaya

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, but I’ve eaten at its food court many times. Most of the stalls serve tasty food. My favorites are bakmi goreng jawa and nasi goreng jawa pak yanto, and the Hainan fried chicken is really delicious too. My wife got tahu campur, which was pretty good as well. The restaurant feels gloomy and a little dirty, and the parking area is small. Nearby, tahu tek pak jayen is also good. I think they should keep the quality tenants so hotel guests have plenty of food choices.

The beef tendon in my Tahu Campur was delicious and had a nice chewy texture. The broth was only so-so. It’s one of my favorite soups in Surabaya. There’s a good range of food, and the price and portion size are about average. The staff are friendly, but they need more training.

I really like the gudeg by bu harnik, and the fusion soto is tasty too. It has a home-cooked feel, isn’t too oily, and still has plenty of flavor. The bakso is good as well, though they sell it as a package, so you can’t choose the pieces yourself. The food costs more than usual, but that’s understandable for a cleaner, more comfortable place with air conditioning, proper tables, and chairs, unlike “emperan”.

There’s a small food court here now, with a few well-known local options, including Bakso ketabang Kali, Mie Kluntung Pak Yanto, tahu telor Pak jayen, tahu campur Kalasan, soto Lamongan, and nasi gudhek Bu Har.
