We had no complaints during our one-night stay. The hotel is inexpensive, the staff are friendly, and the neighborhood is clean and pleasant. Our room was spacious and clean, with Wi-Fi, a hot shower, toiletries, and linens. The connection was so-so, though that seems typical for a hotel. I’m not sure, but what looked like a little indoor pool might just have been a large fountain. The US consulate is convenient to reach: we walked there in the Surabaya heat and were fine, taking about 10-15 minutes, or you can get a quick Grab. I’d stay again and recommend it.

The room was comfortable, the mattress was fine, and the Wi-Fi worked well. There’s no breakfast at the guesthouse, but you can get food and coffee at the restaurant next door. We stayed on the top floor, which gets hot on sunny days, so the AC has to work hard. There’s no elevator. The room’s outdoor light can’t be switched off, which may bother people who need a dark room to sleep. Parking is somewhat limited, so it’s best to reserve. The guesthouse is in an upscale area beside the international school of Surabaya.

If you’re going to the US Consulate General, this place worked very well for us. Don’t book the hotel listed as “OYO”; stay here instead. The connection was poor, but there are literally two restaurants where you can eat!

For a US Visa interview at the Surabaya US Consulate, the guest house is handy. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk, though Surabaya gets hot even in the morning and the sun rises early, so I’d suggest an online taxi instead of arriving sweaty. My standard room, booked on Agoda at the cheapest rate, had a water heater, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, towels, drinking water, a fridge, and a TV. I didn’t see a lift, but the building is only three floors. The staff were very kind and friendly. It is far from downtown, though. There’s a small restaurant next to the guest house, which is the easiest place to get food. I ate dinner there and had an upset stomach in the middle of the night. It might have been lunch instead, or maybe the food just didn’t suit me.
