Life Hotel Stasiun Kota Surabaya

I paid IDR 1,200,000 for four days, a good price for a medium budget. The hotel was clean and pleasant, and someone came to tidy the room every morning, which I really liked. There are lots of shopping malls nearby, the location is very nice, and free internet is available. I'm from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦❤️. I really like this city; it's close to my heart, and I hope I can visit again ❤️❤️.

The room was clean and the air con. worked well. Outside traffic, especially motorcycles and cars, made it a bit noisy. I also didn't get any toilet tissue, and there was a lot of dust on the stairs 😞

The location was the reason I chose this place: it's very close to pasar atom and pasar turi tran station, and fairly near the city center. On my first stay, during Ied Fitri holiday last year, things were okay overall, though the room wasn't very clean. My window faced the railroad, so train noise often woke me up. My October stay this year, outside peak season, was horrible. Around 3am - 5am, a group of women and men were talking extremely loudly in the hallway outside their rooms. I woke up several times. I told reception the next day, and fortunately they stopped making noise in the middle of the night after that, though they were still loud during the day and may have bothered other guests. The room was dirty too. I found small cockroaches in the bathroom and a dirty mark on the wooden floor that didn't seem to come off.

I booked two ekonomi single rooms because the place was near the train station. My issue is more with the S.O.P than the staff, who I had no problem with. They only took cash. The room was dusty and the floor dirty, with no towel, toiletries or water. There was only one shared bathroom, and its light had been off since my first day. I couldn't shower, and nobody fixed it before I checked out. The bathroom was horribly dirty as well. When I asked to pay for an upgrade, they refused, saying it was already afternoon and the rooms were full. But I could still see rooms online on tiket.com, booking.com and traveloka. Why? Guests need a comfortable room. I'm writing this because they need to improve, and I hope nobody else has the same experience.
