Maumu Hotel & Lounge

I picked this hotel because it was closest to where I needed to be the next day, and it was really upsetting. Room 701 was very dirty, especially the bathroom, so I asked to move. They put me in room 703, but its AC was messed up and the room smelled bad and was incredibly hot. When I asked to switch again, they said I couldn’t keep changing rooms. I asked them to come fix the AC, but they didn’t seem to know what to do, so I asked to go back to 703. A few hours later I found a big bed bug on the bed and another on the pillow. It was so stressful. How are you supposed to sleep like that? The worst hotel ever. If you can’t take care of it, you should just close it. I understand the price is cheap, but at least it needs to be hygienic.

We stayed here for the second time, the first was in 2013, and got a huge corner room on the eighth floor with a lovely cityscape at night. The front desk was friendly. There’s no breakfast included, but a few restaurants are right next door, including the famous sate kelopo ondomohen, beef skewers with coconut flakes. The furniture and bathroom are old, with a few cracked tiles and chipped pieces of furniture. Still, it works for a one-night business trip or a quick visit to relatives.

For the money I paid through airy room, our room wasn’t worth it. I also had to leave a 100k IDR deposit and never got the wifi password. The shower ran very slowly, and breakfast rice for sahoor came from a magic com. Then the lights suddenly went out when we returned to the room. OMG.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, but the room needs work. It was dark, had no windows, and the WIFI didn’t work properly.
