For the price of a capsule or dorm hostel, you get a room here, plus breakfast. It's clean, cozy, and more than enough for a backpacker who needs a place to rest. Morning Sun also has friendly staff, an aesthetic design, and a good location. It's cheap, and I'd definitely stay again. My one small complaint is that the smoking area is too cramped, maybe it could be expanded a bit.

I didn't know Surabaya had such a great hostel for travelers. The room was super comfortable, the bathroom had a water heater, and breakfast was free. For a good deal, you need to reserve right before arriving through a travel ecommerce app, then pay at the hotel before checking in.

This was the coziest hostel I found in central Surabaya for such a low price, and the breakfast was worth it. I forgot to take a photo of my room, but it was small, as expected for a single person. One AC serves two rooms. The first-floor bathroom is quite large, with a shower and shared bottles of soap and shampoo.

The AC barely worked, so the room was hot. I was given a small single room, and the door wouldn't close properly, leaving a gap where people outside could see in. It might suit backpackers, though.

The common bathroom was clean and spacious, and the Wi-Fi worked well. It's cheap and fine for a short stop, but parking is very limited. I've stayed three times, and each time the sliding room door felt awkward and didn't lock properly.
