Nite & Day Surabaya - Kedungdoro

The location is the best part. There are lots of food options within walking distance, and although there's a discotheque nearby, its noise didn't bother me in my room. The staff were friendly and really helpful, and the bathroom was good, with great hot water and water pressure. But the room felt creepy and had lots of bugs, so they need to improve room cleanliness.

For the price, it's a pretty good choice in the city center. The room was nice, the location was good, and reception was friendly. There's an Indomaret across the street and a giant mall about a 10-minute walk away. One bad point: a man illegally charges 8000 every time a taxi enters the parking area. I don't usually write reviews, but they deserved one.

It was a comfortable stay, with clean sheets and towels, tidy rooms, and a simple grey-themed lobby. The hotel is affordable, but you have to walk about 200 meters from the main street through a two-floor shop complex to find it, since you can't see the building from the road. I spotted spiderwebs in the bathroom, which made me wonder if many guests stay there. It's not really a family hotel: at night the complex turns into pubs and bars, so the neighborhood gets messy and may not be somewhere you'd want kids to see. One pub is about 10 meters in front of the hotel, and it was noisy, but I could still sleep.

The staff were very nice and helpful. During Ramadhan, we asked them to reschedule breakfast for sahoor, and the meals were good. The hotel is small and tucked inside a shopping district, and I didn't expect much when I booked because the price was cheap. The room wasn't big, but it was clean and comfortable for two, and I loved the ambiance. With affordable rates and great service, I think I'd come back, and it would be one of my first choices.
