I’ve liked this mall since I was a teenager, even though I didn’t grow up in Surabaya. It’s easy to reach by public transport and has a big, secure parking area. There’s a huge mix of shops at different prices, plus apartments and a hotel, so you can get a lot done in one place. The restrooms are especially well kept and smell nice.
I went in July 2022 and barely scratched the surface. It’s the second-largest mall in Surabaya, with so many shops that one day isn’t enough. Hope I get to visit again soon 😀
Our hotel, Doubletree Hilton by Surabaya, was close enough to walk here. It’s a huge mall, and pretty convenient.
This place is huge, and really smart and clean, with air conditioning. One of the biggest malls I’ve seen in Asia. Definitely worth a visit.
Weekdays are probably the best time to come, since weekends get very crowded. Tunjungan Plaza has hundreds of Indonesian and international tenants, so there’s plenty to browse, shop for, or eat. The mall dates back to the late 1980s and has kept expanding. Parking for both cars and motorbikes is ample, and they often hold events too. It’s so large we sometimes get lost in there, huhuhu.
