Hotel Baron Indah Solo

The place seems quite old, though nothing went wrong during my stay. Our room had a queen bed, two chairs and a table, bedside lamps, a TV, a large mirror, and working hot water. Breakfast was available and brought to the room. There’s parking and a nearby lift. There were a few puddles in front of the hotel, and I hope they get more visitors in the future. I forgot to take a photo of the room.

The bed was nice and the AC worked, but the rooms felt old and dirty. The first room they showed me on the second level had cockroaches, so I asked to move and ended up in room 301. The bathtub wouldn’t drain, the faulty bathroom lock trapped me briefly, there were no tissues, and the Wi-Fi was painfully slow, like the 2000s. The phone was broken, so I had to make several trips down to the first-floor lobby. Service was okay, I guess, but I couldn’t borrow utensils because the restaurant closes at night.

Housekeeping responded well, and the restaurant has a good view. The food was average. There’s a large car park, though big buses can’t park inside the main entrance. The hotel still uses manual keys instead of card smartkeys, and the hot water wasn’t working.

The hotel blends Javanese and Indonesian contemporary culture, with retro and modern touches in the decor. The food is simple. It’s in Jogjakarta, and the Wi-Fi let tourists get online and watch videos without long buffering.
