The rooms are bright, fresh, and quiet, with tea, coffee, and water available on the landings. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pose turned out to be a surprisingly good stay, just a short walk from Solo Bslapan station, with town sights, cafes, and restaurants nearby. There’s a scooter rental close by. Cross the road and go left, not right, where they’re all useless. Breakfast is offered as a buffet for INR60k and looked good. They also serve lunch and dinner, though I didn’t try those.

I went straight to the hotel without a booking, since it’s right in front of Solo Balapan train station. For Rp 350000 a night, we got a deluxe room with two single beds and no breakfast. It was clean, the AC was cool, and the shower had hot water. The room also had a safe, coffee and tea maker, limited cable TV, bar fridge, and wardrobe. There’s a 24 hours Alfamart and ATM next door, and it’s easy to get around from here. Customer service was just perfect. The downside was the slow room wifi and thin walls, which let us hear other customers moving chairs, putting things down, and using the toilet.

The service was very bad. When we asked for help with the dusty chair and broken bathroom hanger, nothing changed. Then the water suddenly stopped at 11am, an hour before checkout. We asked what had happened and were told they were fixing it, but nobody had warned us, and we couldn’t shower. The location is convenient, right in front of the train station. The room itself was okay, but those problems made the stay very disappointing.

The rooms were really hot, with poor air conditioning, and the staff had a bad attitude and no common sense. This place felt nothing like the kind of hotel I’m used to in Indonesia. It was a waste of my time and money. If you care about yourself, take my word for it and look elsewhere.

This is one of my favorite hotels in Surakarta Central Java. It has a strategic location and more facilities, while still being one of the lowest-priced options.
