Adhiwangsa Hotel & Convention Hall

In the morning I could see what this place has going for it: a large garden, a pool, and a playground for kids, plus a little rabbit enclosure. You can borrow a bike for free to explore the city, and the parking lot is big enough for buses. There were mostly families staying there, which gave the place a warm, lively feel. My late check-in had me wondering about the four-star rating, though. The room seemed old and a little dirty, some bathroom equipment didn’t work properly, and the hallway design felt a bit eerie. If you’re there in the morning, try the nasi tim sold by the vendor across the hotel. I really liked it.

They’re hospitable, and they made up the room promptly after a guest arrived. I came away with a positive impression.

We stayed in a junior suite, and its homey feel helped us relax. Adhiwangsa gave us a great stay, with lovely hospitality. It’s a great choice for a family staycation or a trip with your spouse.

The staff were mostly friendly and helpful, and for street food or cheap laundry you can just cross the road. Still, I found the snacks and coffee pricey for pretty standard taste. The big pools are free, but almost always crowded, and the price doesn’t feel worth what you get. Weekend live music is loud, especially when there’s a wedding. My room felt old and poorly maintained. There was just one switch for the ceiling lights, and the bedside reading-light switch was behind a small desk and dirty when I reached for it. Noise carried late into the night, including a trolley being dragged across the floor above. On the third day I had to call housekeeping for toilet tissue because it hadn’t been restocked during cleaning. I came back a second time, and the service seemed worse. Even though I’d booked, I waited an hour for a room. It had no windows, and the cellular and Wi-Fi reception were poor, making it feel almost like a jail room.
