Bungalow Modern Golf & Country Club

Back for my second visit, I tried the new night golf. The lighting was really good, and the fairways stayed in perfect condition even with rain coming down. With the promo price, it's a bargain and definitely worth trying.

The golf course is comfortable to play and reasonably priced. The clubhouse food is good and fairly priced too. There's a Breman beer 1+1 promotion on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.

We asked for an actual manager and Rita and her colleagues Vera, Aisya, and Afifah (please see image) told us “Pak Sugi” wasn't there and was due in that afternoon. We'd paid to play and receive the service before this happened, so in the end we asked for a refund. Our tee time was 6:12 that morning for three, but one person couldn't make it, leaving two of us. We expected we might be paired with another group. At the starter, manager Rachmat, who goes by “Apeng” (please see image), said we would be combined with another group after a 40 minute wait. We accepted, got coffee, and went to the putting green. When we came back, he seemed guilty and hesitant as he said there wasn't a group available after all, and that we'd have to wait indefinitely. That made his initial explanation feel dishonest. We asked whether we could start and join a smaller group when one became available. He said he would check with his “atasan,” Rita (please see image of her behind the computer). He said policy required us to wait, but his earlier dishonesty and the uncertainty left us uneasy. We waited another 20-25 minutes, then decided to leave. We found Rita, who turned out to be front desk reservation staff, not a manager. She repeated the policy and apologized, but came across as insincere and lacking empathy. There seemed to be no hospitality SOP or understanding in how clients were handled. When we asked about complaining about the room and requesting towels, no one was on duty, including at night. In a restaurant, a menu is an offer, not a contract, but payment made before the offer creates a binding contract. Golf should be a gentleman's game, with honesty, integrity, and basic hospitality at its core. Incidents like this don't support golf in Indonesia or the fun of playing here.

There's a lot to do here beyond golf, with plenty of other sports facilities. My child even has piano lessons at the Kawai Music School on site. A handy one-stop place for the whole family.
