Cove Hillcrest

The place felt clean and cozy, and the road out front is wide and neatly kept. It's right in the middle of Tangcity, very close to Siloam Karawaci. The price is affordable and worth it, though breakfast usually isn't included. There are lots of restaurants around, including Subway, Pappajack, Sushi Hiro, and Holycow, plus Ranch Market in the same complex, so it's easy to walk out for food or shopping. I liked the shared kitchen, refrigerator, and reading room too. A nice place for young people to hang out.

The lobby theme and location are the only things I liked. Inside the room, half the lights and DC outlets didn't work. There was a bottle left in the bathroom from the previous guest and food residue in the sink. It's marked non-smoking, but the smoke smell was strong. During my three days there, no one serviced the room and the trash piled up. The bathroom door is glass, so other people in the room can see what's happening inside. The industrial design also leaves the concrete ceiling unfinished and very close to the mezzanine bed. I'm asthmatic, and it triggered several asthma episodes and a runny nose. The concept has promise, but I can't recommend it as it is now unless you're okay with the glass bathroom door, no room service, smoke smell, and a dusty room. Better management could improve the experience.

I opened the door and the smell was so bad I knew I couldn't spend the night. I have stayed in shabby rooms before and could have ignored the unfinished concrete look, but the mezzanine bed makes you feel like you're breathing in mold as you sleep 😂. This cheapest room, the superior single, seems meant strictly for one person for one night. I wouldn't bring anyone else there. The rate is very cheap for the location, with restaurants nearby and the mall a 10-minute walk away. But it's a windowless 10m2 room, and the industrial ceiling hangs just 80 cm above the bed, right in your face as you try to sleep. I left immediately, so I can't comment on the bathroom or service 🙏🏻.

I waited around 40 minutes for the receptionist, along with other customers. When I finally got into the room, it was filthy, like it hadn't been cleaned. Dust had made the floor black, the toilet was disgusting, and behind the closet there were patches of yellow crust. The room felt damp and had mold in several places. The pillowcase smelled used, and there were blood stains on both the pillowcase and bed cover. Seeing the condition made me feel itchy, so I didn't take a photo. I left the apartment and went to another one because I couldn't stay there.
