After travelling for 16 hours, we had to find a nearby hostel with a 24-hour reception and a reasonable price because this place had failed us. We’d booked through Booking with cash payment, since that was the only option. Our bus arrived four hours late, so we got there at 23.20 and tried to let them know through Booking, but nobody answered. At arrival, they said they were full. They told us Booking always shows rooms even when they’re full, saying that’s just how it works. It was super frustrating and annoying. Maybe they mean well, but this was our experience. We booked at Barada Poris instead, which I totally recommend.

We were there for 30 hours waiting for a flight, and it was the worst, most uneasy stay I’ve had in years of travelling around SE Asia. The room had no ventilation, mold everywhere, and a horrific urine smell that I couldn’t get out of my nose until a day after we left. There was no water in the toilet, bidet, or shower. Just once, a small trickle came out and stopped, even though there was water elsewhere in the building. I’m convinced we were given the worst room because we were white. The cream mattress was practically black, and the pillows and bedcovers were horrible. They nearly made us sick. We felt uneasy the whole time, with people giving us dirty looks. We were so uncomfortable that my partner didn’t want to leave the room. I don’t know if we were the only white guests who’d ever stayed there. At 2am checkout, I had a Grab booked for 55k to the airport. The people there argued with me to cancel it and use a random guy they knew for 225k. I wasn’t going to do that. With three men there and just my partner and me, we were extremely nervous. As soon as our Grab arrived, we got out as quickly as possible. I recommend staying as far away as possible.
