Sheraton Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Airport

The jogging track and mini zoo were a lovely bonus, and both gave us somewhere to wander without leaving the hotel grounds. I also appreciated that there was parking for motorcycles as well as cars, which you don’t find everywhere. Our staycation started smoothly: check-in was easy, the staff were friendly and informative, and someone even showed us all the way to our room. It was roomy with a nice view, and the wooden floors made it feel warmer and cosier than marble. At the café we were greeted and seated warmly; the coffee was good and the pastries were nice too. The pool is wide and deep enough for kids who don’t want to use the kids’ pool. Breakfast had a good range of choices, and the staff were attentive. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in for a staycation. Highly recommended for a relaxing break.

I’ve stayed at Marriott properties often as a Titanium Elite member, and this was the most substandard experience I’ve had across the brand. The room smelled strongly of mold, enough to make me nauseous, and there were mosquitoes. I couldn’t get a decent night’s sleep. Service was also poor. Nobody mentioned my Titanium Elite benefits, including the breakfast option, at check-in, and the front desk didn’t answer several calls from my room. I also had a confirmed midnight airport shuttle, but it never waited for me. After being told to wait more than 30 minutes, I was exhausted and had to pay for a taxi myself. For a hotel of this caliber, the basic service and maintenance were shocking. For a dependable airport stay, I strongly recommend Fairfield by Marriott Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport instead. It’s far more professional, a much better experience, and better value. Avoid this Sheraton until these serious service and maintenance problems are fixed.

The breakfast was really good, and the hotel is nicely located with a nice pool and friendly, helpful staff. We stayed three nights altogether, one when our vacation started and two when it ended. For the last two nights they upgraded us from a garden view to a lake view, but it didn’t really help us since we’d booked a kingsize bed and got a twin room instead. The air conditioning was a bit off too, as it only went mega cold. We were out a lot, though, so it didn’t bother me much. It’s a nice place to stay, but the upgrade didn’t make sense.

The rooms are nicely equipped, robes included, though a little small for a hotel in this class. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and nobody seemed to expect a tip, which was really nice. Breakfast had plenty of tasty choices, and we enjoyed a simple dinner there too. We booked through Expedia and exchanged a few messages to set up the free airport transport. The pickup spot was a walk from international arrivals, but after we landed past midnight, the smiling driver found us easily. A great airport hotel choice.
