The second room was even filthier than the first, with marks on the wall that looked like old blood. We found cockroaches in the bed within minutes of arriving, and the rooms were very dirty. I kept my clothes on to sleep because the place felt so gross. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I’d avoid it and never go back.

We had a pleasant one-night stay with my family at OYO Esther Hotel. The twin room was roomy and comfortable, and the hotel is only about 3-5 minutes by car from Silangit Airport, with a free shuttle there. Some things could have been better: the shower had very weak water pressure, housekeeping had left no toilet paper or body wash, and when I asked reception for a hair dryer, none was available.

I picked this hotel because it advertised air conditioning, but there wasn't any. The receptionist's explanation was poorly delivered, and they said no guests had complained about the air conditioning during that period. It was still a problem for me, so I'm sorry to leave a low rating.

There's not much choice near Silangit Airport, so this is probably the best transit hotel around. The room was large and clean, there was hot water, and parking was spacious. They also offer a free airport shuttle. Booking through an app like OYO or Traveloka may cost less.
