Swiss-Belresort Belitung

The little things made our stay at Swiss-Belresort especially memorable. We bought fruit outside the resort, and even though guests aren’t allowed to borrow a knife, the staff cut it and brought it to us. The corridors smelled lovely, and the receptionists were always happy to point us toward restaurants, hidden spots, and souvenir shops. We’d considered two resorts before the trip, and I’m glad we chose this one. It’s the best resort we’ve stayed at so far, with beautiful ocean views, a tasty breakfast buffet, great service, and everything sparkling clean. Thanks to everyone at Swiss-Belresort for such a lovely stay!

We had such a relaxing time here, and the ocean view from our spacious room and balcony was beautiful. From the lobby, we could also see the restaurant, the sea, and the large pool. The open-air lobby was cool and comfortable, and there were souvenirs for sale right there, which was handy. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff explained the facilities, transport, and nearby attractions clearly. They served us a welcome drink, too. Everyone was very friendly. Special thanks to Tiara and the rest of the team for making us feel so welcome.

Three nights at Swissbel Tanjung Binga flew by, and I already want to come back. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and the view was amazing. We asked for connected rooms and got them. Breakfast was delicious, freshly made each day, with a different menu daily. The pool was clean, and the spa massage was supeeeeer good. Every staff member seemed well trained and was friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived to checkout. Huge thanks to Pak Jo and everyone for making the holiday and stay so memorable. Fav Hotel for sure. Well done Swissbel Resort Belitung!

The staff were the reason I managed to stay all five nights, from January 4-9, 2026. They kindly arranged excursions, including Hopping Island and City Tour, recommended a wonderful nearby seafood restaurant, and were quick to help. Special thanks to driver Faisal, Tiara at reception, and the restaurant team who brought coffee or omelets to my table. I’m grateful for their care. I hope the hotel improves its English skills, though, since it presents itself as international. I have several serious concerns about the hotel and its management. The advertised “fabulous location & beachfront” didn’t match what I found. The way to the sea is an unpleasant tiled path, and the “beach” is just a small, dirty platform with nothing to see. I’m not sure what “beautiful location” means here, perhaps the distant sea view from a kilometer away. Belitung is a small island, so the city and Tanjung Tinggi beach are relatively close anyway. There are two large pools, but I never saw staff cleaning them in the morning, so I didn’t feel comfortable using either one. I also requested an airport shuttle the day before my flight and got no reply, although the website lists “Great for your stay: Airport Shuttle.” The room cleaning was very good and the staff were extremely attentive, but the room itself was old. Paint was peeling, tiles were broken, and there were chips on the walls and skirting boards. The towels were worn and no longer white, and the curtains, bed covers, and chair cushions had stains. The grounds need restoration too. The sundeck boards have holes, there’s lots of plastic and trash near the sea, and old furniture stored or perhaps simply left in the corridors makes the hotel feel neglected. Breakfast was disappointing for me, a 6/10. There was too much greasy, heavily fried food, the fruit was unripe and tasteless with only a couple of varieties, and overall there wasn’t much choice. On the last few days, I ordered only boiled eggs, cappuccino, and local mini desserts. I’m sharing this in the hope that the hotel can improve in the future.
