You can find better hotels in Tanjung Pinang, but expect to pay two to four times as much. For a budget stay, this one is easy to recommend: it's near the ferry terminal and potong lembu eating area, and breakfast and Wi-Fi are free. The room has air conditioning, a good hot shower, and outlets that work with Singapore plugs. At this price, I didn't have much to complain about. Thumbs up.

The staff at the front desk, dining area, and housekeeping were all friendly and helpful. Santoso and Yunus deserve a special mention. Breakfast is included, and the room had good TV and Wi-Fi reception, a working A/C, a mini fridge, and a safe. The bathroom was clean, with a partial shower screen, strong water pressure, and no sewage smell. The bed was comfortable, and the room was generally clean, though some surfaces were dusty. There was no cigarette smell, which I appreciated. It’s under a 10-minute drive from the ferry terminal, with Grab and Gojek available in Tg. Pinang and plenty of places to eat nearby. I could hear passing traffic and people talking, laughing, and shouting late at night through the poor sound insulation. Still, it was a pleasant stay for the money.

The air conditioner could have been colder, though that was only a minor issue for me since I sweat a lot. I slept through the night despite being a light sleeper, thanks to the comfortable bed. The large windows also let in plenty of natural light. The hotel is in the heart of Tanjung Pinang, and the warm, professional staff made a strong impression from the moment I arrived. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at during my visit, and the receptionist was especially thoughtful.

The staff service was good, and the hotel was clean and luxurious while still charging an affordable room rate. It had everything I needed: a free shuttle, car rental, a money changer, mini fridge, kettle, some snacks, and a healthy breakfast. Best hotel to stay!
