The breakfast doesn't match a four-star hotel's standard: there's no choice, no pastries, and the floor is slippery. The room wasn't ready when I arrived, and the AC wasn't switched on, so it was as hot and humid inside as it was outside. There was no toilet paper, and the shower is level with the floor, so water spreads everywhere when you wash. The hotel stands by the road and near a mosque, and you can hear everything happening inside and out. Terrible hotel.

The room looked nothing like the pictures. It was poorly maintained, smelled of cigarettes, and had a dirty, disgusting bathroom with subpar amenities. The floor mats and towels were ripped and half destroyed. The walls are paper thin with no soundproofing, so you'll hear the mosque's prayer call five times a day. There were mosquitoes and cockroaches, so bring bug spray, though reception does have some. Breakfast was really, REALLY sad and tasted even worse. Maybe the chef hated the job and put that into the food. The Wi-Fi? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I get the sense the owner has given up and is spending as little as possible on maintenance. If you're going to Tarakan, avoid this hotel and spend a bit more somewhere better.

I stayed two nights. The room was small, had no window, and smelled of smoke, with poor soundproofing. Breakfast was Asian food only, and no alternative was offered. The staff didn't speak English and ran away when I tried to communicate with them.

The breakfast was amaaaaazing, and the price is definitely affordable. The hot water was nice, the AC worked great, and the toiletries were all there. It's definitely worth it.

Pretty good overall, and the officer responded quickly. Still, a few things were lacking: there were bedding problems, the AC wasn't maintained often, and a lamp was out.
