The room was a real disappointment, especially after paying a non-refundable $200 for two full days and three nights. The biggest issue for me was the mattress. It looked very old, and whenever one of us moved, the whole bed rocked like a wave and made sleeping uncomfortable. There were other signs that things needed attention: the sheets and towels were supposed to be white but looked grey, stained, and worn, and the curtains were dirty. The slippers smelled unpleasant and weren’t sealed in plastic, so they seemed as if they might have been used. The soap dispenser didn’t look clean, and the liquid soap seemed watered down. The room door also had gaps that could let insects or lizards in. The pool was 1.6 meters deep, too deep for non-swimmers like me at 1.62 m. At most other hotels I’ve seen, it’s around 1.4 meters, which is more comfortable for adults and children. I hope the owner considers replacing the worn linens and addressing the cleanliness and comfort issues for future guests. The staff were polite, helpful, and quick to answer my questions. The internet was good, the hot water worked perfectly, and breakfast was acceptable, though it could be improved. I understand the worn items may not be the staff’s fault.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. It’s a peaceful place surrounded by lovely nature, a great spot to enjoy Ubud’s quieter side and relax. Highly recommend it!

The remote setting made an already frightening stay feel even less secure. We spent three nights here, and on two nights in a row the power went out with no backup. I also felt unsafe with the sliding room doors. Even when locked, they could still slide open from one side, leaving the other end open. There were no entrance gates either, so anyone could walk into the resort without being checked.

The green, quiet surroundings made it easy to unwind at The Kanjeng Resort Ubud. We were very happy with our suite, which was spacious, clean, and fresh, with a comfortable bed and a well-maintained bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were alright, but for the price the stay fell well below what I expected. Breakfast was pretty bad, and ordering it was difficult. Staff communication was vague about motorbike prices, and anyone who doesn’t speak Indonesian may struggle to communicate with them. Most employees seemed new and weren’t much help when we needed assistance. They didn’t even have an extra room key to service the room while we were out.
