Teluk Karang Dive and Spa Resort

The resort staff were incredible when I ran into car trouble on the way up. They helped me get my tire fixed locally so I could get back on the road. There’s also a diving center on site, with convenient shore dives over a lively reef, and the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options were all amazing. This is a beautiful, private resort on Bali’s north shore that went beyond what I expected. Highly recommended, and I hope to come back someday.

Ten chalets, a fantastic view, and a house reef you could easily spend a week exploring. The food is excellent, and the host makes a point of visiting all the guests each evening in a friendly, engaging way. This boutique resort exceeded what I expected, and I highly recommend it.

Set on Bali’s north coast beside a black gravel beach, Teluk Karang Dive and Spa has bungalows tucked into a lush garden around an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The rooms are spacious, tidy, and comfortable, with a fan and air conditioning. Outside each one there’s a patio with a table and double sun lounger, and the bathrooms are large with open-air showers. Service is friendly and eager. The menu mixes regional and international food, with tasty, generous portions. Breakfast includes fresh fruit, cereal, homemade bread, and cheese, plus freshly cooked local and international specialties. The resort has its own spa and dive base, both professionally and warmly run. Its healthy, protected house reef offers plenty for snorkelers and divers, and daily boat trips go to dive sites along Bali’s north coast. You can bring your own gear or rent it there. They also offer individual sightseeing trips to cultural and natural spots around Bali.

This will be our fourth trip to Teluk Karang, and I’ve never returned to the same place twice before. The house reef’s underwater life is stunning, the food is lovely, and the people make you feel truly welcome and at home. There’s so much care in the details.
