The Amrita Salt Farm Villas

We were really happy with the service. When we had electricity problems, the staff were ready to help and sort them out. The public areas were good too, with a nice pool and parking for cars and motorcycles. We hadn't planned to stay, but stopped by looking for a room. Luckily, one was available and ready. We chose the family villa for two nights and were very satisfied with its beautiful, well-kept design, direct beach view, and toiletries. Breakfast had several choices, like omelette, fried rice, and fried noodles, all served with fresh fruit and juice, with tea or coffee available too. Superb. If I'm remembering right, there are only four rooms in total, including the family villa, which helped keep things quiet, calm, and private. All the rooms face the beach. A very recommended place if you're after an easy stay with a beach view around Tejakula.

I missed the salt season by a few weeks, but it would've been amazing to watch the local salt farmers working on the beach. The villas themselves are beautiful, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Each has a balcony overlooking the lush, well-kept gardens and pool. When I asked about a massage after arriving, someone came within 15 minutes and gave me a skilled, enjoyable treatment for my aching shoulders. I ordered Indonesian food for dinner, and it arrived on my balcony exactly when I asked. It was some of the best food I had on my trip.

I stayed here recently and was disappointed by the room. There was visible dust in several places, and the mosquitoes made it difficult to relax or sleep comfortably. The toilet wasn't properly enclosed, so the room felt uncomfortable and short on privacy. The interior also seemed poorly laid out, with furniture and a design that didn't make sense or feel welcoming. This stay fell short of my expectations, and I hope the hotel improves the room design and hygiene for future guests.

The salt farm had stopped operating during our rainy-season visit. If you come between May and November, you'll see it in operation. The hotel sits right by a pebble beach, with a calm sea most of the time and a good snorkeling spot within walking distance. Diving courses are available at all levels, and the pool is 3m deep for diving lessons. Tucked away in northern Bali among fishing villages, this felt like just the place to rewind and relax. We were pleasantly surprised by the private outdoor bathroom, and I literally showered in the rain one evening. You can get very close to mother nature here.
