Grand Majang Hotel Ternate

This hotel has definitely seen better days, and the stay was awful. The shower had no hot water, and there was no toilet paper. The receptionist said there was tissue in the room, but that was gone too. We had to move from our non-smoking room because it smelled. At 425000, it wasn't worth the price. I can only guess the loose hose by the toilet was meant for transanal irrigation.

The price was affordable, and the old hotel was comfortable and quiet. It’s right in the city center, close to restaurants, a convenience store, and street food.

Nothing special, just an average two-star hotel. You can’t tell whether there’s a room attendant around, maybe because the management is poor. Breakfast was decent, but the food didn’t taste very good.

The rooms differ by class, price, and which of the buildings you’re assigned to. Grand Majang is built around a house, with two extra buildings added to accommodate more guests staying temporarily in Ternate. The rooms are average in size and facilities, with a queen bed, air conditioning, a mini fridge, electric kettle, hot and cold shower, amenities, and minibar. Nearby there’s an Alfamart Midi, a police office, and karaoke across the street. Public transport runs along the main road in front.
